Last Bridge
The Elf-stone
The Last Bridge crossed the River Hoarwell (Mitheithel) on the Great East Road — the last bridge before Rivendell. After the attack on Weathertop, Aragorn led the wounded Frodo and the hobbits here, fearing a Nazgûl ambush. Instead he found a pale green beryl set upon the bridge — a sign from Glorfindel that the crossing was safe and the Black Riders had been driven off.
