Edhellond
The Elf-haven
Edhellond, the Elf-haven, was a small Elvish port hidden at the mouth of the River Ringló near Dol Amroth in Belfalas. Founded by Sindarin Elves who fled the ruin of Beleriand, it was one of the last places in southern Middle-earth where Elves lingered, quietly building ships and departing west over the centuries. When Amroth, King of Lórien, and his beloved Nimrodel tried to reach Edhellond to sail into the West together, Nimrodel was lost in the White Mountains. Amroth arrived to find the last ship breaking its moorings in a storm. He leapt into the sea to swim ashore but was swept away and drowned — giving nearby Dol Amroth its name.
