Caradhras
The Redhorn Pass
Caradhras, the Redhorn (Barazinbar in Khuzdul), is the northernmost and tallest of the three peaks above Moria. The Fellowship attempts to cross the Redhorn Pass over its shoulder but is driven back by blizzard and malice — whether from the cruel mountain itself or from Sauron. Their failure on the pass forces the fateful decision to go under the mountains through Moria.
