Fornost
Fall of the North-kingdom
Fornost Erain, the Norbury of the Kings, became the capital of Arthedain after Annúminas was abandoned. In TA 1974 the Witch-king of Angmar overran the city and destroyed Arthedain. A year later, a combined force from Gondor, Lindon, and Rivendell defeated the Witch-king at the Battle of Fornost—but too late to save the kingdom.
