Himling
Remnant of Beleriand
A small island in the northwestern sea, Himling is the surviving peak of the great hill of Himring. In the First Age, Maedhros son of Fëanor fortified Himring as the anchor of his defensive line against Morgoth. When Beleriand was broken and drowned in the War of Wrath, the summit endured above the waves. By the Third Age it is a barren, uninhabited island — a silent monument to the wars and kingdoms long lost beneath the sea.
