The northern lands of the Haradrim, or Southrons, who were long enemies of Gondor. They fought alongside Sauron in the War of the Ring, riding great Mûmakil (Oliphaunts) into battle at the Pelennor Fields. In Ithilien, Sam witnesses a skirmish between Faramir's rangers and a Haradrim column and reflects on the humanity of a fallen Southron warrior.
